Skunk Train
California Western Railroad
Fort Bragg to Northspur

July 24th, 2012
If we waited one more day, it would be steam train

That day was cloudy, no sun at all

We leave at 10:00 AM to Northspur

Fort Bragg
It is a charming little town with its early 1900s look
Main Street (Highway 1) and Laurel Street

Who is that skunk?

Number 65 will pull us today

Looking back from an open car, placed in the middle

It is the most winding railroad as I was told by the conductor

We have a junior conductor on board

One hour and forty five minutes later we arrived at Northspur

It's lunch time

The locomotive turns and couple on the opposite direction.
Notice it is sunny at this junction some 20 miles inland.

Ready to head back to Fort Bragg, but.....

The train is NOT going anywhere if these folks have not finished their lunches.
We were late for about one hour that day.

Back to Fort Bragg
