Steam Train Rides
Chehalis, Washington
July 20th, 2013
The Baldwin Locomotive #15, built in 1916
Chehalis Station, exit 77 from I-5
When it comes to train, it's all about me - the young kid, always 10 years old.
This is 2-8-2 wheel arrangements.
Its last working assignment was to pull log train for the Cowlitz, Chehalis
and Cascade Railroad,
which operated until the mid 1950's.
I am imagining an old photograph.
In three years, this locomotive is 100 years old. (2016)
I told you, it's all about me...
Okay, it's almost 1:00 P.M., Pokie bought two tickets.
The locomotive pulls its cars which are restored "heavyweight" coaches
from the 1920's.
Ready to be "parked" next to the station
The locomotive backs up and picks up more cars from the barn.
Back to the barn....
Use your imagination, it is 1916
Now, the trains moves forward, ready to pull at 1:00 P.M.
Milburn is as far as we go.
The locomotive uncouples and pulls from the opposite side back to Chehalis
Mostly straight line, farms on the left and right.
Back to Chehalis, one last look!
In the background is the Interstate 5
