Vancouver - Day Trip
October 20th, 2016

This is the view from our suite at 7 STARS hotel (just joking)
Maple Ridge, British Columbia
Located about 44 km east of Vancouver.






















We left early that day, taking the commuter train - West Coast Express at 7:14 A.M.
Port Haney to Vancouver Waterfront is about 56 minutes
One way from Port Haney is Can $9.00
Return (round trip) is Can $17.00 including SeaBus, buses and Skytrain
Of course we opted the "Return" tickets























This is the top deck - less people to go up here!
We have just arrived at Maple Meadows, six minutes later (the next station)
We are traveling from east to west.
























Arriving at Waterfront Station at 8:10 A.M. (on time)
From here you can go to North Vancouver by Seabus every 15 minutes
Canada line to Richmond and Vancouver International Airport
Expo line then transfer to to Millennium line to Coquitlam City Center
























Gastown, Vancouver
We were recommended that this point is as far west as we could go
Beyond this point "homeless" people is everywhere























This is the statue of the Gastown founder
























We are still early, most TOULIST TLAP stores are not open yet.
We just enjoyed the ambiance.























The Steam Clock is the signature of Gastown,
the day is damp but not raining, time for Starbuck coffee on the right.

Our commuter train is parked at Waterfront Station
West Coast Express resumes the journey back east at 3:50 PM, the last one being at 6:20 PM
There are 5 train sets in the yard.
We took the last train home that day.























Vancouver skyline from the Seabus, it's raining again but lightly, we can deal with that!

We have 8 minutes and 39 seconds until departure

From Waterfront Station we board Canada Line to Richmond
Still no rain, a good thing!






















The inside skytrain, very similar to the one in Portland, Oregon
It is cleaner, I have to say.


























Richmond area - Aberdeen Station

























We took the Canada line all the way to Richmond-Brighouse (end of the line)
Dim-Sum at KIRIN Seafood Restaurant
Next time we have to make a reservation!

Look MA....I operate the train...NOT
When the expansion line is open at the end of the year (2016),
this would be the largest "light rail" or skytrain in the world - OPERATOR LESS!
