Astoria Riverwalk
Bowpicker Fish and Chips, Maritime Museum and Camp 18
July 22nd, 2020

We got here around noon, that was too late, the line of lunch has already formed,
social distancing and face covering are the mandatory these days.
I stay in line while Pokie parks the car.

This is the BEST Fish & Chips, they use tuna and rice flour for batter.
The fact that they use an old fishing boat at their "kitchen" is neat.
Our third time here.

It's worth the wait!

We drove 70 miles to come here. Time to eat.

Columbia River Maritime Museum

Columbia River is the biggest in the western states.

We begin to walk along the riverwalk stretching in excess of six miles.

A slightly different composition

Benches are provided along the riverwalk.

Megler Bridge to Washington state is visible from the riverwalk.
The bridge is 21,474 feet or 4.067 miles (6.55 km)

This is iPhone 7 Plus image, I borrow Pokie's camera since it has 2X zoom.

In its heyday the building on the left is canning factory for tuna.
It has since abandoned.

We could only imagine if we live here, a beautiful house on the riverfront

A guide of ship watching...

A River cruise ship is being docked here during the pandemic

CAMP 18

On the way home, we stop here for "restroom break".
In the late 1800s, this place is a logging center in the north coast.

I think I capture BIG FOOT with my camera, too bad he is shy.

This was a steam tractor used in pulling some of the timbers.
