Lake Billy Chinook
August 29th, 2021
Lake Billy Chinook has existed since 1964 when Portland General Electric
constructed the Round Butte Dam.
We rented a 21 footer pontoon boat for a day.
The rock formation is amazing.
I always wonder, if we are boating the whole day, how about when nature call
?
It turned out to be that there are three floating restrooms like this one, plus
we can dock the pontoon
and use the restrooms in the many campgrounds in the area.
What a relief!
Another pontoon with the water slide

This is the Round Butte Dam
Chinook Island
The second floating restroom I spotted that day.
When we are in the shallow water, better watch out for this water plant
that can run havoc on the propeller!
Perry South Campground, we used the facilities.
House boats for rent
We make another stop
We try to go as far as we can, watch for the boulders underneath.
This is as far as we are willing to go, any shallower than this is dangerous.
The water colors are different?
The darker green is fresh water from the river.
There are three rivers that make this lake Billy Chinook
That's the end, we can hear the rushing water from the mountain.
That's the second bridge I spotted
Back to the Marina after almost 8 hours of boating.
