Autumn Colors - Series I
My photographic meditation
October 9th, 2021

SW Osprey Drive, let's begin here...

This is my first fall colors series of 2021, the lighting is soft, and best of all, no rain,
I walked with amazement like a kid in a candy store.

I walked from home, the sun was peeking rather strongly,
but when I got here, the sun was hiding again, a good thing for me.

I took as many pictures as I see a good composition.

I let my eyes wondered freely, I just have to take you along on my adventure.
In this case the single tree is very interesting by itself.

I mainly use 16 X 9 composition a lot as it serves me more in term of landscapes.

I took several of this composition (square) if landscape is not suitable.

The combination of red bushes and trees as well as the sky intrigue me.
I usually combine two or three elements in one picture.

As I walked further, I used the square composition again for the sidewalk shots.

The foreground trees "frame" the left and right sides, while the sky enhances the total image.

The residences must enjoy this time of year.

I concentrate on one tree using a square composition.

I went up the steps to get a higher vantage point.

Don't forget to look back as it's as dramatic as the opposite subject.

I moved closer, it seems the sky is rather "washed out" try to compensate the darker image.

As I walked out from the apartment complex, I see this as my composition.
The foreground tree brings depth to the image.

Again the foreground tree makes it a nice dimension to overall image.
Again, don't forget to look back.

The sky helped me to compose this image, also the curve sidewalk is adding the beauty of this image.

I like the fact that the trees on my left are still green.

The fallen leaves always enhance the "autumn" feeling.

I use a vertical composition to bring the leaves closer.

Again, always look back to see if the scenery in interesting.

I moved almost in the middle of the street to get a wider shot.
I see one tree that is really red in color.

Half of the leaves are on the ground, but it was still interesting to photograph.
I cover the sky with foreground leaves to balance it and not so much sky on left top side.

The red tree still draws my attention, I moved closer and snap this picture.

I am going back, walking on the other side of the road, I see a different view.

Often I use foreground (in this case a tree trunk) to show the depth.
The green leaves make it more interesting in term of contrast.

I use the trees on the right to "stop" the eyes from venturing further and go back to the orange trees as a focal point.

Again I fill the sky "area" with the green leaves to balance the image.

I use super wide angle to capture the dancing sky.

The lighting is still soft, no shadow to deal with.

Back to a square composition, I placed the tree trunk on 1/3 grid.
Rule of 1/3, but again rule is meant to be broken for the aesthetic reasons.

Looking back, I see the sky in very interesting.

Here I can cover the sky with leaves as a foreground.

I use a person as a scale to make it interesting.

These red, blue and white cars further add the autumn orange colors.

The sun intensity is getting stronger, time to head home.
I see shadows now.
