East Lake Samamish Trail
May 12th, 2021
Lake Samamish State Park - boat launch area
Composition 1
I walked back about 20 feet and I have this tree leaves to frame the picture.
Composition 2, which one you like better?
In 1889, this was East Lake Samamish Rail Corridor (ELSRC).
A coal was brought from Gilman (now Issaquah) to Seattle.
The rail company of BNSF abandoned the corridor in 1997 and King county acquired
it.
Imagine having breakfast with the full view of the lake.
Retirement bench - good for social distancing
The multi-use trail is 12 feel wide with 2 feet of gravel on each side.
It is now known as ELST (East Lake Samamish Trail)
Relatively new housing along the east side.
Alexanders on the lake
This section has hard surface for 1.6 miles
Some properties have their own boat docks
Alongside the trail
Boat launch area
We saw 3 bold eagles and a few of blue herons.
Stretching on the boat docks
That day I walked about 2.8 miles, not bad!
EXTRAS
Japanese Snowballs
A perfect sunset to end the day.
