River Tour

May 21st, 2014

Chicago is also famous for its old but working corner clocks.

Old and new, notice we have walked almost half an hour.

A window display on State Street that attracts my eyes, made of old license plates.
We added five more states in this travel, five more to go.
Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Delaware (the smallest state)

Marina City, made famous by the late actor Steve McQueen,
he drove the car from the parking garage straight to Chicago river.

The new TRUMP Tower, notice the "T" and "R"

I never knew Chicago has water taxis until now.

Aboard the Chicago First Lady, the start of the river tour (90 minutes)

Can't file a hotel room? Welcome to this "Temporary Housing" - Lil Hobo.

I just love the reflection on these high rise building.

Approaching Lake Avenue bridge, the top is for the "eL" train and below is the regular traffic.

Merchandise Mart on the left, once owned by the Kennedys, a fortune was made selling that building.

Randolph Street bridge, in the background is Chicago Sun Times

Only two seasons in Chicago, a winter and a construction season.

That's Willis tower in the center, the boat turned around at this south point.

All those sailboats crowd at one place, waiting for the bridge to go up and to let the cruise boats pass by.

The boat turn around here, the city of Chicago dam the river and reverse the flow, what an engineering feast.

Need a yacht and a helicopter?

The bridge is up, this is Michigan Avenue, the start of Magnificent Mile. Stay tuned!
