Journeys in Japan
through my iPhone
June 3rd to 21st, 2019
I was mesmerized to see her doing the calligraphy with full of passion.
Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kyoto
A beautiful Japanese Garden in the afternoon
Nijo-Jo, Kyoto
In between the rainstorm, our feet get wet from the side rain.
Rain or shine, people still come.
Todai Ji, Nara
Todai Ji, Nara
In 2017, this was the exit corridor.
This is my "shot" of the day, the rain has stopped temporarily
I quickly grab my iPhone and snap a few shots.
Kyoto Station (Eki) at night
I am amazed the iPhone can capture night shot like this one.

We arrived in
Hiroshima on June 12th, the many trams that go all over
the city.

I LOVE TRAMS
Atomic bomb (Genbaku) Dome
August 6th, 1945 at about 08:15 A.M. the bomb was detonated 600 meters above
ground,
about 160 meters from here (The Hypocenter)
The only building that was relatively intact and becomes the peace memorial
to this date.
Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims
People contiguously offer flowers, water and money.
(The initial survivors were very thirsty after the blast, thus water is integral
part of the offering)
The view from our hotel room.
Hotel Apa Ekimae, room 1004
The river has a period of low tide and high tide.
This was taken around 05:00 AM in the morning (notice no traffic)
Since Japan does not change the time, sunrise is at 04:40 AM
Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima Island
The torii gate appears floating on the water during high tide (mancho)
When the tide draws back (kancho) from the base of Itsukushima's torii gate
visitors wade through the mud to place coins
in the cracks in the wood and make a wish.
A peaceful surrounding
The trickle of water makes it so tranquil
Apart from the torii gate, the Itsukushima Shrine has many
other well preserved buildings.
Reikado Hall (The Eternal Flame)
Miyajima Island
Kakko ii (Cool)
On the way down we take a bus.
I could have worked in Japan as a
SPELL CHECKER? What do you think?
Before this poster was printed.
A well deserved lunch after a long hike to Mt. Misen
Want Sushi or Tonkatsu?
Kantai-kyo (bridge) originally built in 1673
Iwakuni
That day the rain never stops even briefly.
Pokie is my model.
The twilight view from our hotel in Fukuoka
Jigyo Central Park in visible on the lower right.
Hilton Fukuoka Seahawk
Ohori Koen (Park) in the cloudy morning
One of the bridge in Ohori Park
Why the picture is here?
This is actually a small authentic ramen restaurant,
when the blue bucket is hanging, the restaurant is open.
The owner (chef) is so eccentric, if the broth is not to his liking,
he simple does not hang the blue bucket (CLOSED for the day).
Old Hakata shopping street.
Fukuoaka is a modern city indeed.
This is the famous CANAL CITY shopping center.
Later I found out that some of the leaves are PLASTIC.
I am thinking to leave the mirrorless camera at home for the
next trip,
the iPhone images are worth for my travel purposes.
