Hornsby to Lewisham
May 20th, 2022

Florence Street
Public phone is still in existence in Australia (endangered species), some has WiFi though!

Before I venture any further, I had lunch - Banh Mi at Pho Ngon.
Tofu Vegetarian, the tofu is not seasoned whatsoever, disappointing!

I can see the entrance to Hornsby Station across the street.

The office of Dr. Alexander Lee is visible from the station.
90 George Street, Hornsby, NSW 2077

Hornsby Station, notice the "T" for train
13:01 PM, that clock is faster by a few minutes.

Immediately, I look at the screen as to what platform,
I am looking for Central via Strathfield, stop at Burwood for my first transfer.

The entrance to the platform

I confirm that platform 4 will take me to Burwood for my first transfer.

Platform 4, I am in business!

I confirm with the monitor! Always verify! The train will leave in 8 minutes

About ready to go.

I choose the lower deck, it is not crowded at all.

Burwood Station

I have to get down the stairs to change platform. A lesson learned...!
Never assume that the train will stop at my final destination, which is Lewisham.
As I went up I see a train and I hop in without looking at the monitor since I had seconds to get to the train door before closing.
My mistake, the train just passed by Lewisham. So I continue to Newton and take the train back to Lewisham.

I made it back to Lewisham but...it was pouring rain...

I made it home but soaking wet, my jacket is 100 percent rain proof,
I can not say the same for my blue jeans!
A lesson learned

The complexity of the Sydney Rail Network
