Centre Island
September 15th, 2015
From Union Station, we took the "Rocket" (street car) No. 509 or 510
to Queens Quay.
At this moment the streetcars are underground.
It is a short walk to Jack Layton Ferry Terminal
The ferry is at 11:00 A.M., we have about 45 minutes to kill.
Passenger only ferry, some people bring their bikes to tour the island.
It's a short boat ride - about 15 minutes.
The first view of Toronto skyline from the left side of the boat.
A wider view
Welcome to Centre Island, be prepare for a lot of walk.
A perfect view indeed.
It's early enough, the sky was clear and the water was calm, an unobstructed
view.
We lost count the number of photographs we took.
It says "Welcome to Toronto"
Pokie's favorite, she took this one with the swans.
I think the painting is almost done!
We walked to the center of the island afterward.
After a quick bite, we took this tram ride to "see" the whole island.
To my surprise, we found the beach of "Clothing is Optional"
I have to visit this site next time.
This one was taken from the moving tram - not bad!
Look at the giant tulips!
It's a chair...a clever design indeed!
One more look before we go back to Toronto.
Almost 2:00 P.M., time to leave the island.
