METRO

Montreal Subway System

In Montreal we only deal with one transportation authority - STM (Societe de transport de Montreal)
We bought weekly pass of $25.50, plus OPUS card which is required for $6.00 extra, a total of $31.50,
it is still a bargain since a day pass costs $10.00. This weekly pass is good Monday through Sunday.
BTW, I think the OPUS is good for 6 years.

Look for the METRO sign!

Place Des-Arts is the closest to our hotel.
Remember where you came in, in this case DE BLEURY (right)

This METRO Subway system uses Green colors to indicate the line,
you need to know the final destination - Honore-Beaugrand.

It is clearly marked.
Vous etes ici - Place-Des-Arts
Notice the direction to Honore-Beaugrand.

This is the opposite direction to Angrignon.

Now the METRO has arrived, we are going to the Olympic site.

Here's the system map, we only use the Green and Orange lines.

The "kid" is on board.

This is VIAU Station - Olympic Park, we made it!

Oh, almost forgot to mention, it is rubber-tyred.
Here are some of the advantages, smoother rides, faster acceleration, shorter braking distance.
Some of the disadvantages are, higher energy consumption, hotter operation, tyre replacement cost.

Pokie is in the right spot, ready to enter the METRO.

This is BERRI-UQAM, the busiest interchange.

It is not very friendly to the physically challenge people.

Station McGill

This is the bus schedule, it looks confusing at first..
On the 11 hours on a Saturday for example
The bus will come at 11:13, 11:33 and 11:52
Yes, you need to know French a bit - SAMEDI is Saturday.

This is bus # 55 that take us to Notre-Dame Basilica

This is on Friday when we move to a hotel close to the airport.
This is LIONEL-GROULX
Notice that this is the middle platform, a mix between ORANGE (Cote-Vertu) and GREEN (Angrignon)
The idea is to speed up the transfer without going up or down.
Very interesting and it is an oddity to my surprise.

We made it to DU COLLEGE Station
Then transfer to bus 202 - for Hilton Garden Inn Airport

We survived Montreal!
