Home On The Road - RV Parks
Vancouver Island Trip
July 28th to August 4th, 2016
The first day, we drove about 280 miles to
Bellingham RV Park,
our favorite overnight "home" before crossing the Canada border,
in the background is where showers are, we always ask to be close to it since
we do not have one.
Wanderlust on board the ferry to Victoria -
Coastal Celebration
One way with 2 passenger is Can $88.20 or US$67.83 or 77 cents to the Can dollar
RVs, bus and trucks are on the lower deck, this is the 10:00 AM sailing.
Leaving Tssawwasen - on time, bright and sunny day.
Coastal Celebration
It takes 1.5 hours from Tssawwasen to Schwartz Bay (Victoria), that ferry came
from Victoria.
This is
Fort Victoria RV Park, I believe this is site 118 and the WiFi
is good.
We stayed here two nights before heading to Nanaimo.
These three RV and rental RV from CanaDream, a lot of European are vacationing
here.
Notice the first RV is backward? This guy does not know how to back-up.
Also later that day, we saw a big flood from the rear, he or she puts too much
water in the water reservoir. Tourists!
VIA - Canada Rail (sadly no more!)
They used to pick up passengers from this RV Park.
A cute small train station.
A lot of full-timing in this RV Park, notice the mailboxes on the left.
We always try to stop by at the country store like this, who knows what goodies
we can find.
This is downtown
Nanaimo, no traffic since it was Sunday morning.
Commercial Street where
Mon Petit Choux (French Bistro) is.
You want to try your luck, CASINO Nanaimo is here....
If you ask me, this is a ONE WAY BANK, you make a deposit but you don't make
a withdrawal!
Jingle Pot RV Park - Nanaimo, we only stay here one night before continuing
to Union Bay
Site T-17, a small site but good enough for the Wanderlust
Just Like Moms - Union Bay
This is an honor system bakery, put the money, get your change and take the
bread or cookies.
We came here for the Bird Nest Cookies, we have to order two weeks ahead.
Cedar Grove RV Park and Campground.
Notice there is still tent in the background, during a holiday, this place is
noisy with kids.
This is the closest RV Park to where Bruce Morton lives.
Qualicum Beach Train station ground.
What can I say, trains are running in my blood.
Even visiting an old station like this makes me a happy camper.
I wish VIA is running again.
Everyday is a good day!
