Shijo-Omiya station for
Randen Railway - Arashiyama Line
( Do not mistaken with Shijo-Omiya subway line, which is underground across
the street)
We got here early - the clock says 6:35 A.M.
220 YEN to Arashiyama, we met Russel Wong, a professional photographer, a nice
guy indeed!
This trolley/tram is on the way back to Shijo-Omiya
Arashiyama, still early and no traffic, I could not keep up with Russel...
Entering the bamboo grove..
Lesson I learned, never take the bamboo grove with side or front lighting
Always back lighting in this case!
It is getting thicker as we proceed...
I took many pictures of these bamboo grove, it is back lighting now!
Meet Russel Wong, this is where all early photographers take place.
Another photography lesson - lower the camera position if you want to reduce
the uninteresting foreground!

Like a "gate", we are out of the bamboo grove
To sum up the feelings of visiting the bamboo grove
We keep finding small shrine..
Kyoto is known for the city of a thousand temples
Around town:
Hozu-gawa
Two would be geishas
Mifune Matsuri
An ancient boat party is reproduced by some 20 boats every year in Arashiyama
The "RED" umbrella stop, vending machine is everywhere..
From bamboo grove we can access this pathway
My favorite picture on the river
10,000 YEN around town.....
